Our website address is: https://www.jolkona.life. Jolkona is a training program for females from the STEM background to prepare them for leadership roles in the WASH and climate sector. The program is managed by WaterAid Bangladesh and ESAB (Engineering Students Association of Bangladesh) and our implementing agency Devtale Partners.

At Jolkona, accessible from www.jolkona.life, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by Jolkona and how we use it.

Log Files : 

Jolkona follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.  

Like any other website, Jolkona uses ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.

Admission Data: 

Once you submit your application form you give the permission to own the data provided in the form. We may retain your data as long as we require. We may share the data fully or partially with our collaborators for this program and future programs. We may  also use your data to establish contact with you if required, by submitting the information you are giving permission to contact you over the possible communication channels. We may share the visuals with our partners and implementing agencies.

Your photo, profile and other information: 

We may use your name, photo and other information in our future publications, social media communications. Once you qualify for the program and join online your virtual participation may be recorded and may get published. By joining this program you give consent to use the information, photo, videos and screenshots when required. We may share the visuals with our partners and implementing agencies.

Third-party ad servers or ad networks uses technologies like cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons that are used in their respective advertisements and links that appear on Jolkona, which are sent directly to users’ browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see on websites that you visit.

Note that Jolkona has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.

Children’s Information : 

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

Jolkona does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

This Privacy Policy applies only to our online (and applicable offline activity) activities and is valid for visitors to our website with regards to the information that they shared and/or collect in Jolkona. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
